A considerable amount of resources are required to execute a load test or any of the other types of load tests.  It is essential to the wellbeing of any organization that maximum return on such investment be achieved.  Our test script  review services are a means of ensuring that your VUGen scripts and scenarios are both efficient, valid and that they meet the objectives stated in the supporting test documentation.

 

We review VUGen scripts and LoadRunner Scenarios. 

 

Virtual User Generator reviews are essential for ensuring that tests will operate as expected, with no unwanted surprises.  For example, scripts are checked for transaction handling in relation to possible error conditions, so that transactions don't appear to be passing when they should be recorded as failing.

 

LoadRunner Scenario files are the centre piece of any load test execution and need to be thoroughly  For example, they should be checked for appropriate runtime settings for each VUser, ensuring that settings such as logging levels are set appropriately for test execution, and that different settings for similar VUsers are deliberate.

 

Scripts are checked:

-    For consistency with Mercury Interactive recommended usage

-    For consistency with internal comments

-    For consistency with supporting documentation (Detailed Test Plan)

-    For efficiency

-    For reliable operation / defensive coding

-    By load testers with at least five years load testing experience

Scenarios are checked:

-    For consistency with Mercury Interactive recommended usage

-    For consistency with supporting documentation (Detailed Test Plan)

-    For appropriate usage of monitors

-    For appropriate/consistent usage of run-time settings

 

All reviews are executed in strict confidence.  No part of any document or script will be forwarded to any other party.  We are prepared to sign a confidentiality agreement before reviewing any documents if required to do so:

How a code review works

bullet Initiate Review request by email to docreview@loadtest.com.au.
bullet We respond after checking application for completeness.   We ask for confirmation that you are formally requesting services to be provided and understand that you are entering into a contract for services.
bullet The Service Level Clock starts ticking on receipt of your confirmation.
bullet We send an annotated, reviewed document back, asking for confirmation that you accept that the review has been completed in accordance to your instructions. 
bullet We call you, by phone, if you request such a call, to talk you though any issues identified in the test script or scenario.
bullet We send you an invoice for the amount calculated above at the time the review was requested.
bullet On receipt of a request to delete all relevant documentation, we immediately delete all attachments to all mail messages that contain review and or supporting documents exchanged in the review process.

* Testing Project Size is the amount of person days expended in the entire testing project.  If the testing project is a re-test of a previously developed test, then the testing project size must also incorporate test effort expended in development of the original test.
